Chapter 3 – The Language of Discourse Community

There are many studies of how discourse communities use language. These linguistics studies look at language and its structure to examine how it is used within particular groups. Each business discourse community has a vocabulary or lexicon that is common to that discourse, lexis that may not be as well known to those outside of that discourse.
