A Look at Institutional Critiques, The Ethics of Media and Markets, Fall 2022

Thanks so much for picking up this, our first edition of Pro Tanto, an undergraduate journal of philosophy, law, & ethics presented by The Hoffberger Center for Professional Ethics at the University of Baltimore.

In the following pages, you’ll find articles representing the fruit of discussions and individual research conducted by our Spring ’22 Student Fellows.

In this issue, Fellows examine such topics as representation within capitalist media ecosystems, the human need for belonging, online validation mechanisms, sexual exploitation within the culture industry, and more.

I invite you to share in the investigations and insights contained in this journal for just a sample of the rich and fascinating scholarship conducted by these exceptional students.

Please, follow our train of thought – as far as it goes.

Best,

Daniel Gellasch, Fellowship Director
