Each student will conduct and record an interview for UB Stories: 100th anniversary oral history project.
Each student will select a topic from popular, online media sources that represents a controversy in public history. (For example: Confederate monuments in public spaces) Students will conduct online research into this topic throughout the semester and present their findings to the class in the final weeks of the course. Your presentation should include an overview of the controversy and your own position on the issue. You should also be prepared to lead a class discussion on the topic.
This is a 1-2 page list of online sources that you gathered for your Controversy in Public History presentation. Please use the MLA citation format for bibliographies and include all web links to your sources.
Please share your thoughts, questions, and opinions at least once per class each week. If you feel uncomfortable talking during class discussions, please use an alternate communication option like the chat function. The instructor can also provide suggestions for written communication options to fulfill the participation requirement.
