Assessing your own practice

Now that we’ve looked at some sample practices and strategies, let’s turn our focus to our practice.

Review the Culturally Responsive Teaching Self Efficacy Survey. You do not need to submit it, but record your answers for your own records.

 

Action Planning

After reviewing and scoring your self-assessment, consider what changes you might make to strengthen the cultural responsiveness of your practice. Develop an action plan with at least three steps. Submit your action plan in the Assignments section of the course.

Thank you for sharing your response. As we have seen throughout the course, engaging in self-reflection is a key part of being a culturally responsive and inclusive educator. Reflection helps us build and strengthen our practice. Indeed, culturally responsive teaching is truly a practice. Rather than a skill that can be mastered in a few sessions, it is a teaching philosophy that must be constantly nurtured and developed over one’s life. We thank you for taking the time to engage in this work and look forward to collaborating with you more during our synchronous session.
