Trash, Recycle, or Compost?

While it is important to maintain the mixture of brown and green items in compost, you might not be able to compost in your backyard. Instead, you might compost your food waste in a municipal or community composting program. We’ll learn more about different composting methods later in this module, but before we do, we need to make sure we know how to dispose of our food waste. What can be composted? What needs to be thrown away or recycled?
